Lake George 2013 - Part One

For Alexa's birthday she wanted us to take a family trip, so we went up to Lake George for a few days.  It was the first time for all of us, and absolutely beautiful up there.

The Main Entrance

While we were there we stayed at the Tiki Resort.  The place has a tiki theme in all of the public areas, a tiki bar and a Polynesian Dance Show on the weekend.  Pretty much stuck in the '50s and we loved it.  It's quiet, clean and a 5 minute walk from the middle of the Village of Lake George.

The Original Sign?

The girls were really excited to be staying in a hotel for a couple of nights.  From their reaction when we walked in, you would have thought it was The Ritz!  The best part for them at the hotel though was the pool.  Our room was right across from the pool which made it super easy to take a quick dip to cool off before dinner.  We even jumped in for a few minutes before we checked out.

The View From Our Room
One of the best parts of the place is the Polynesian Dance Show.  It's a family act, with three generations taking part.  The dad plays guitar and sings, the mom and daughters dance, the son is the drummer and all of the grandkids dance and play percussion.

For the record, umbrella drinks are perfectly acceptable as long as you are on vacation!

Up next.... Magic Forest & The Minnehaha!!!
